So I understand I've been rather bad about updating my Blog and Forum lately, I've been super busy, as you can probably see on my calendar. Thanks to everyone who made Taste of New York a weekly thing. The owners are super happy and being that they are true New Yorkers that was no easy task, so thanks again. I have nothing very new to write right now, I've had friends in town visiting and we went to Busch Gardens..My life is so hard...Here is a video I made of our ride on SheiKra the new DIVE coaster they have. 200 Feet, 70 MPH, 90 degrees down...It's Awesome. Check it out....
PHFEWWW!! That's the sounds of relief knowing that you all remember how to get to The Dek. You were crazy, you came in large groups and it was so much fun I almost forgot to take a break and pee (fortunately my bladder is strong when my tip jar is full) Despite all you smitten Yankees fans coming to gloat about cutting it down to 7 games, I had a great time and appreciate your singing and generous tipping to make up for the A-Rod for president comments.....I'll see you all at Stevie Tomato's tonight for a little Interleague Mash-up to music.
Well my friends you've been showing support rain or shine these last few Wednesdays and it's been a blast. The 5-8 happy hour has been rockin' with familiar faces and this week some new (Very Un-Shy) faces that hopped up and helped me sing a few songs. This has been so much fun and I hope you continue to all bring more afterwork friends to keep things fun and crazy on Wednesdays.
Where were all of you? Were they handing out free shots on tuesday night somewhere else?? Are you all Cavs fans who need to stay home and pray for your team?? My god this is what it looked like....I hope to run into a few of you on Thursday night....I miss you....Call me...
It made for quite a long day but a Sunday Double-Header has been the norm as of late. Cheeseburger In Paradise brought a very enthusiastic crowd with generous tips and as always the servers and bartenders kept me going with requests. You guys will get fired one of these days if you stop working to sing along every 5 minutes...But I love it.
Monkey Bar was very low-key. A rain storm seemed to be moving in and the weather was humid. I'd expect most outside venues to struggle a bit in the upcoming months as the summer starts to hand us more of these nasty humid days. Maybe we'll get lucky on Fathers Day.
Alright.....I did it, I made it through the night and now we're done with that. No more bets that will force me to wear Yankees gear every again... Enough said.... Red Sox have been winning since Thursday night..... Eat it Clemens... Oh yeah....Music is going well too.
Oh my god what was I thinking??? Well seriously it's been great to have so many requests for things I just haven't learned yet, so I'm excited, but I'm going to be busy this weekend learning as much as possible. I had a great night at The Dek this Thursday, Michelle kept it rockin' inside and we had a great crowd outside as well. I recorded the show and will be stiicking some of those tracks up here very soon. They will most likely be in the Site-Wide music player, but look for an AUDIO box somewhere in the next few days as well.
Not looking forward to tonight and having to wear the Yankees jersey to Stevie's, but I take my bets seriously and must submit to my loss. Come down and get your pictures in with me, this will be the first and last time I wear anything Yankees related..
It was awesome to see those of you who came out, despite the rain and crappy humidity at Martinis this wednesday. I would also like to shout out one more HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Shannon. We had a good time as always, and maybe a little more than usual since we discovered that Katie makes amazing Long Island Ice Teas....Damn...good stuff.....
Also, many more of you took advantage of the "Request Form" going around that is forcing me to learn some new tunes within the next week or start a tab at the bar and buy you all drinks.... We'll see how that goes, but I'm looking forward to it. Gotta have something to keep me busy during the day.
See you all at The Dek tonight.....
I've been awful, never keeping up on this thing, never updating my website, and never really adding cohesive elements to all of it to make it useful to anyone coming to visit... Well now that's over. My last year here in FL has been amazing and despite the fears and warning that I was headed off to "Gods Waiting Room" with nothing but a bunch of blue haired Ice-T drinkers fighting for parking spots at Perkins, I've found that there is a large population of people my age who love music and are super supportive of it and of me on a weekly basis, so here I am writing an account of all the craziness that is Fort Myers and Cape Coral on a weekly basis for me. I hope this will entertain, inform, and explain what's happening in and around these two towns and keep you all up on things that interest you. I'm also hoping to extend my debt of grattitude towards all of you who come see me play on a regular basis and feed me the ideas I've been using to make each week better.... Feel free to add to these blog entries and let me know your thoughts. I'm looking forward to it.
